Welcome to the Wednesday newsletter! It's still seeming like a loooong week post-holiday. I think I might like it better when the holiday is on the Monday!

We've got a lot to cover today - especially in the deals and freebies section. That page on the website is in the middle of a big overhaul. We've added a bunch of new, but are still working on weeding out old stuff - that's always the hardest part!

If you missed it, you can see our Monday newsletter here for more about the 80+ county fairs in Minnesota, Barn Quilts of Minnesota and Sibley Park and Farm, which I messed up in the newsletter, but you can read all about here.

We're still in the lull on the Minnesota City Wide Garage Sale List this week, although there's ONE sale on the list this week in Bertha. I have to admit there are some towns in the state that I only know about because of working on this list! I

If you enjoy this newsletter, I would love if you would forward it to a friend, co-worker or family member! If they also like it and want to receive the newsletter to their own email inbox, they can subscribe HERE.

We'll pick it all up again in the Friday newsletter. In the meantime you can keep up with us on Facebook or the website! Thank you for reading. I appreciate it!

Stillwater Trolley Historic Tours

Taking a ride through the birthplace of Minnesota aboard a Stillwater Trolley Historic Tour! Running daily through October, the fully narrated 45-minute ride is an great way to soak up some local history and learn about the city's early beginnings.

The route winds past the iconic historic lift bridge, travels up into the scenic hills to view the massive homes built by old lumber barons, and introduces you to fascinating local architecture, historical facts, and fun folklore stories.

At only 45 minutes, it leaves you plenty of time to enjoy the rest of your day in Stillwater walking across the lift bridge, checking out the cute local stores and getting some ice cream or a tasty meal.

Touch A Truck Events in Minnesota

Getting up close and personal with massive vehicles at a local Minnesota Touch-a-Truck event makes for a fun summer outing! These interactive community gatherings are super popular for families because kids can climb into the driver’s seat, honk the horns, and explore the inner workings of giant big rigs, public safety vehicles, and heavy construction equipment.

The best part is that almost all of these events are completely free to attend and they often have additional fun and activities happening at the same time

The season is in full swing with dozens of cities hosting events all across the state over the next few months. Check out our fully list and let us know if there's one coming up in your town that we happened to miss!

Sally Manzara Interpretive Nature Center in Lake Elmo

For some nature fun on the East side of the Twin Cities, check out the Sally Manzara Interpretive Nature Center in Lake Elmo!

Located in Sunfish Lake Park, the center itself is ffilled with tons of learning opportunities for kids. There are displays with rocks, bees, birds, other insects, interactive play areas, and the chance to see LIVE honey bees up close.

Outside there is a sandbox made from a canoe, a prairie storybook stroll, a scavenger hunt and more.

The center is FREE to visit and they also have an event calendar filled with children's programming.

Thrifty Minnesota is reader-supported. If you buy something through our links, I may earn a small commission. As an Amazon associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

See all the details for these deals and more on the Current Great Deals Page.

We're adding lots of new additions to the deals page and here are a few:

There's a new Holiday/Circle K Scratch & Win game you can play each day for a chance to win free food or beverage prizes, gas discounts and more. It runs all summer long until 9/1. So far I've won any size Polar Pop and a beef stick. I also won a gas discount, but I don't think these discounts are ever any bigger than those on the Holiday Gas Coupon page.

Play the Spot the Cow game in the Chick-fil-A mobile app through July 13th for a chance to win a FREE Medium Waffle Fries reward. You can play until you win (while supplies last)

Get a FREE Snickerdoodle Cookie today, 7/8 at Breadsmith! It's one muffin per person while supplies last. Breadsmith locations are in Minnetonka, St. Paul and Edina.

If you can get to your local Panera super early on 7/9, they're giving away 13 FREE loaves of sourdough + free stickers per cafe. I'm thinking these will go pretty fast.

Burger King has a BK Tap Up game happening in their mobile app. Each day you can play for a chance to win food offers. I've gotten things like free cheeseburger, or large drink or other food with $3 purchase.

It's Wok Wednesday and you can play a little game in the Panda Express app to win a reward. Mine was 2 plates for $15.

For more restaurant deals, there are often some good ones, usually for more local places, available in the Groupon food section.

The latest Walgreens photo freebie for 10 FREE 4x6 prints is open for only a 2 hour window today!

Get your FULL purchase price back in Walmart Cash when you buy Banza Wheat Protein Rotini Pasta.

TODAY ONLY 7/8 Macy's has a FLASH SHOE SALE with tons of items half off or more including brands like TOMS, Nike, New Balance, Birkenstock, Michael Kors, Clarks, Rockport and more.

Right now you can get the LEGO Roses building kit for under $10 - 41% off! You can also get a CUTE Halloween Pumpkin and Ghost set for only $11.99 (40% off).

Get Charmin Essentials Soft Toilet Paper 6 Mega Rolls under $4 when you clip the digital coupon. (List price $7.49)

Check out the deals page for details/links/coupons on everything above plus more deals and freebies!

Our morning flight had almost every type of issue imaginable including mechanical problem, airline screw-ups, flight crew timing out, needing to refuel, weather, etc. and ended up not leaving until after midnight. It's good to be home though, even if we did walk out of the airport into super smoky air! If you missed our Wednesday email, check it out HERE for Hopkins Raspberry Festival, great deals at Wild Mountain, Highland Park Water...
