🧧 Lunar New Year ❄️ Winter Play Day βœ‚οΈ Crafty Saturday ⭐ New Freebies & Deals

Happy Friday! This week seemed to start out slowly and then BAM - here we are at the weekend.

If you missed our Wednesday email, you might want to check it out HERE because it has multiple fun things for the weekend including Hooked on Books in Chanhassen, the Tare Market Warehouse Sale and the Textile Center Fiber Arts for All Makers Market, which includes some hands on experiences.

I mentioned last week that I'm working on the Minnesota City Wide Garage Sale List for 2026, but it's going slowly!! I'm still hoping for the end of the month, but it looks like it may early March instead. That will still give us more than a month until the sales actually start.

Besides the weekend fun included below, there are more on our Events List on the bottom half of the page or looking directly at the Events and Attractions tabs at the top of the website.

Until next week you can keep up with anything new at ThriftyMinnesota.com or on the Facebook page. Thanks for being a subscriber! I appreciate it.

Lunar New Year Celebrations in Minnesota

2026 is the year of the Horse! We created a list of several Lunar New Year events happening around the metro area and in St. Cloud.

Each of these events are a bit different with different activities, but you'l find things like artistic performances like lion dancers, traditional games, arts and crafts, chopstick lessons kids activities, delicious food and drink and a whole bunch more.

Most of these events take place this weekend, but there's still a chance to celebrate next weekend too. If you know of any events that we have missed, please let me know!

Crafty Saturday at Arc’s Value Village Bloomington

We love Arc's Value Village because they are great thrift stores with profits funding programs and services that benefit children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.

This weekend they're trying a NEW event at their Bloomington location with Crafty Saturday. You can get inspired to make art and crafts with demonstrations from our stores team, stock up on crafting supplies, hang out with fellow crafters and support the work of the Arc Minnesota all at the same time!

If you end up going to this event, let me know about your experience!

Winter Play Day Festival at Three Rivers Park District

It looks like we got fresh snow just in time for the Winter Play Day Festival tomorrow!

This family festival is packed with outdoor activities to enjoy the winter weather. There are free walk-up rentals for snowshoes, cross-country skis, and adaptive sit-ski equipment, an evening cross-country ski on lantern-lit trails, a snow play area with snow painting and more, winter fun walk, etc.

Plus there will be live music, bonfires, a winter market with local vendors and more.

Didn't get tickets to Brandi Carlile's upcoming show at The Target Center? No worries- you can live stream it on The Current for FREE! I love that an artist is freely offering up her show for all to hear. There's also an option to buy a ticket for $29.99 to see the video stream of the show with all proceeds donated to the Minnesota-based Advocates for Human Rights.

For the latest food related deals we have a Papa Murphy's BOGO pizza deal, Stacy's Pita Thins 41% off, a $.50 muffin at KwikTrip for National Muffin Day and a FREE All In Bar at Starbucks via a text in cash back rebate.

You can now order from Cub foods via Amazon with free delivery to your house for orders of $50 or more. To kick this off they have an offer for 20% off your first order of $50 or more.

I also shared a bunch about Whatnot over there on the deals page. It's a fun new auction site and my favorite part is the GIVEAWAYS!

There are new online shopping deals on the page including a Disney sale at Kohl's with up to 75% off - they have some CUTE things including small kitchen appliances with a Disney theme.

See everything else over on the deals page. If you ever spot a good freebie we need to include, please send it over. We all love those!
