🧢 Folk Arts Fair 🌌 Mia Star Wars 🍜 Restaurant Week St. Cloud ⭐ NewFreebies & Deals!

TGIF! The weekend is here and it looks like a nice one. I'm glad it looks to be warming up a little bit as we're going to head to opening weekend of Valleyfair for my nephew's birthday. They have new owners and I'm interested to see the changes. The big one will be the remodeling of the waterpark, opening Memorial Day weekend.

If you missed our Wednesday email, check it out HERE for more about big plant sales happening this week and next, Doors Open Minneapolis and the Springtime and Sunshine Festival.

Besides those and the weekend events shared below, one more we didn't get on the website is the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden Art Fair both Saturday and Sunday. You can also find more things coming up to do and see on our Events and Attractions pages.

Of course you can opt to go garage saling with over 30 citywide and neighborhood wide sales on our list here. It's also Take a Mom Fishing Weekend May 9 – 10, which means Minnesota resident moms fish free.

Have a great weekend however you spend and I'll see you again Monday for the next newsletter! Until then you can keep up with anything new at ThriftyMinnesota.com or on the Facebook page. Thanks for being a subscriber! I appreciate it.

Big Red Barn Spring Folk Arts and Crafters Fair

A great chance for finding a Mother's Day gift or something special for yourself is at the Big Red Barn in Maplewood for the Spring Folk Arts and Crafters Fair.

This event, happening Saturday May 9th, is the area’s largest folk arts gathering with over 100 booths and they typically see 2500 or more attendees. It's all a fundraiser to support the Maplewood Historical Society.

At the fair you can browse local artists, crafters, farmers, makers, vendors, food trucks, & more among the historic buildings & landscape of the Bruentrup Heritage Farm.

Free Star Wars Family Day at Minneapolis Institute of Art

Each month, your family can join Minneapolis Institute of Art for a free event for families, kids, and the young at heart. Sunday is one of these days!

For these events, the museum is filled with hands-on art activities, storytelling, artist demonstrations, gallery hunts, self-guided tours and more β€” all inspired by the Minneapolis Institute of Art’s incredible collection.

This month the theme is Star Wars! Discover how this fun film saga relates to the Mia collection and the arts. There’ll be a costume contest, Star Wars crafts, and maybe a few familiar characters roaming around the museum.

St. Cloud Area Restaurant Week

This coming week is Restaurant Week in the St. Cloud area - filled with great food and some fun "extras"!

The weeklong celebration has a different theme each day with culinary categories like "Cheese, Please", "Coffee Lovers" and "Nostalgic" served at restaurants all around the area.

The fun "extras" to the week are a chance for everyone to enter to win one of 7 $50 gift cards being given away throughout the week - one each day. (You can go enter right now.) The other is that you can earn a FREE Restaurant Week T-Shirt by using their digital passport to check in as you dine. 7 visits will get you there.

Now we're on to a new week! If you missed Friday's newsletter you can still see it HERE. While some events/deals are past, you can still read about St. Cloud Restaurant Week happening this week and a few other things. We're still getting new...

Happy Monday! What a beautiful weekend it was. I spent as much time as possible outside. I had hoped to hit garage sales since there were SO MANY Citywide/Neighborhood sales, but only managed to sneak in a few Saturday morning. I had been lamenting the fact that I hadn't gotten to sales because there are a few things I'm looking for like a lawnmower, yard wagon/cart, etc. Luck must have been on my side because when we got home late yesterday afternoon our next-door-neighbor was having a yard...
