It's Time for Some BIG Plant Sales!

With the weather getting warmer it's time to get planting in our yards and gardens AND it's time for plant sales!

There are lots of great plant sales all over the state (please feel free to send in the info if your organization is having one) but two of the BIG ones that happen each year are at the Hennepin Technical College Plant Sale in Brooklyn Park and the Friends School Plant Saleat the State Fairgrounds.

The HTC sale is running now through Thursday and then the Friends sale runs Friday through Sunday. Each are for a good cause and each have thousands of plants available!

Next weekend will be the Ramsey County Master Gardener's Plant Sale.

Doors Open Minneapolis

One of my very favorite Twin Cities Events, Doors Open Minneapolis is a rare opportunity to go inside buildings that are often not open to the public, learn about them and experience both history and architecture.

There are historic homes, churches, businesses, rooftops, government agencies and more open those days. We have enjoyed both beautiful venues and ones where you can get the inside details on how things work - like the Eastside Maintenance Facility.

Over 100 venues are included on the list so you'll have to pick and choose which ones you're most excited to see!

Springtime and Sunshine Festival at Anoka County Fairgrounds

A fun event that celebrates the beauty of spring is happening Friday through Sunday in Anoka!

There's a lot to do for both kids and adults with live music, a mini midway for the kids, additional kids activities, tractor barrel rides, food trucks, a craft vendor fair with over 100 handmade crafters, a beer garden and more.

With all the crafters and boutique vendors at the fair it's also a good last minute opportunity to find a Mother's Day gift!

Here we are back at Monday again. I hope you had a good weekend. Mine was good and included a lot of driving yesterday, but I was lucky to avoid most of that fishing opener/Mother's Day traffic with back roads and leaving early. I am NOT a traffic person! Now we're on to a new week! If you missed Friday's newsletter you can still see it HERE. While some events/deals are past, you can still read about St. Cloud Restaurant Week happening this week and a few other things. We're still getting new...

TGIF! The weekend is here and it looks like a nice one. I'm glad it looks to be warming up a little bit as we're going to head to opening weekend of Valleyfair for my nephew's birthday. They have new owners and I'm interested to see the changes. The big one will be the remodeling of the waterpark, opening Memorial Day weekend. If you missed our Wednesday email, check it out HERE for more about big plant sales happening this week and next, Doors Open Minneapolis and the Springtime and Sunshine...

Happy Monday! What a beautiful weekend it was. I spent as much time as possible outside. I had hoped to hit garage sales since there were SO MANY Citywide/Neighborhood sales, but only managed to sneak in a few Saturday morning. I had been lamenting the fact that I hadn't gotten to sales because there are a few things I'm looking for like a lawnmower, yard wagon/cart, etc. Luck must have been on my side because when we got home late yesterday afternoon our next-door-neighbor was having a yard...
