It's Friday! Why is it that "short" holiday weeks often don't actually seem short? I'm glad to be back at the weekend!

Flint Hills Family Festival

This popular festival is back again in downtown St. Paul with fun on both today and Saturday.

You'll find lots of free outdoor entertainment and art-making activities, low-cost indoor performances starting at $8, and more!

Spring on the Farm at Eidem Farm in Brooklyn Park

It's time to celebrate the turtles found in our parks during Turtle Fest at French Regional Park in Plymouth Sunday! This free event offers a full day of shell-ebrating fun for the whole family.

You can meet live turtles, chat with wildlife biologists, and even canoe on the lake where the turtles live. There will also be turtle-centered art activities, a photo booth, a trivia challenge, and local food trucks to enjoy.

Don't forget to check out the epic playground structure while you're there, which is easily one of our favorites in the Twin Cities!

WaterFest at Lake Phalen

Celebrate Minnesota's clean lakes during WaterFest, a free annual family festival at Lake Phalen Park in St. Paul this Saturday.

The day features dozens and dozens of different adults for both kids and adults with just a few of them being free 10-person canoe rides, kayaking, a mobile library, and a local artist market. You can also catch a live Hmong Dance performance, meet a butterfly on stilts, check out a unique Water Bar, catch a fish and even learn how to paddle a dragon boat!

Kids can join in on the Passport Odyssey challenge and receive a prize when they gather all 7 stamps while exploring the park.
