Happy Monday! This weekend went too fast! I didn't get nearly as far as I wanted to with yard work/gardening and the Sunday rain didn't help!

At least I did get to the first farmers market of the season to get some additional plants. It's my favorite place to buy those I don't start from seed myself.

If you missed Friday's newsletter you can still see it here, BUT the majority of the things included are now past. One thing I mentioned in that one was that we're hosting a giveaway for 10 people to win The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on digital. You have until 2pm today to enter.

Summer Kids Movie Deals

On a hot summer day when you still want to get the kids out of the house, a nice cold movie theater is a fun option!

This summer, lots of movie theaters throughout Minnesota have summer movie deals featuring kids movies with tickets for $3 or less. Movies are actually FREE at Phoenix Theaters in New Ulm and CABB Theaters in Dundas. There are $1 tickets in Willmar, Woodbury and St. Michael, and then others with prices from $1.75 to $3 each!

Some of the theaters also have deals on concessions with special pricing on pop, popcorn, hot dogs, etc.

Last Chance for the Como Spring Flower Show

It's your last chance this week to visit The Como Park Conservatory Spring Flower Show ending June 7th!

If you haven't seen the second part of the spring show NOW is the time to do it. Not only will this show be ending, but the whole Sunken Garden will be closed for maintenance June 21 – July 8.

For the show, Marjorie McNeely Conservatory horticulturist Bo Akinkuotu has created a display featuring rich colors in high contrast, and a host of unusual flowers. Peachy orange blooms like Asiatic lily ‘Lava Joy’, calla lily ‘Havana’, hibiscus ‘Orange Sunset’, and peach-colored begonias were chosen to contrast with deep blue verbena, lobelia, and fragrant heliotrope.

Tots and Trains at Jackson Street Roundhouse

Do you have a toddler that absolutely loves trains? You can treat your little conductors to a morning of railway fun during Tots and Trains at the Jackson Street Roundhouse in St. Paul!

The morning features a train-themed story time led by an energetic conductor, along with a fun craft to make together and a snack. Plus, admission includes total access to explore the museum itself, including renovated train cars to walk through, a massive model railroad, and fun train play tables.

Running every first and third Wednesday of the month, this special event is geared toward kids ages 0 to 6. There is plenty of free parking available right in their lot.
