Free Seed Libraries in Minnesota

While it's still a bit early to start gardening for the year, it's NOT too early to start planning for gardening!

Free seed libraries are a great way to get seeds to start your garden and learn more about gardening in the process. Located across the state (often in public library buildings) the libraries are a place to pick up seeds to plant in your garden.

Some locations also offer classes about gardening or sessions with a master gardener.

And, if you have extra seeds to share, many seed libraries are happy to accept your donations to share with others.

Catch Me on TV!

Well, you can't actually catch it live since it aired last night, but you can see the video here.

Paul Folger from KSTP visited me to get some input for his popular Money Minute segment, this week about Saving on Your Grocery Bill.

Unfortunately you really can't fit many helpful suggestions in about 90 seconds so I plan to create a post to share with you with my ACTUAL grocery saving tips. Look for that next week.

FREE First Saturday Science Event

Take the kids to Metro State tomorrow for the April First Science Saturday event that is FREE for everyone.

This month is all about Minnesota Flora, Fauna, & Funga! Attendees will dive into the amazing plants, animals, and fungi that call Minnesota home.

Explore the unique biomes of our state and discover the incredible diversity of life they contain. Join in hands‐on activities like classifying fungi, dissecting flowers, and building your own bee hotel.

You can even take home a Junior Naturalist Kit to keep the exploration going!

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. Yesterday sure was a beautiful day. We spent it outside doing chores, but the nice weather made it enjoyable, especially since we were up at my childhood home and the birds were super talkative: trumpeter swans, sandhill cranes, woodpeckers, owl, eagles and more! If you missed Friday's newsletter you can still see it HERE with Minnesota seasonal ice cream shops opening for the season, fun things to do in Duluth and more. This Friday is the Twins...
