🎠 Free Carousel Rides πŸŽͺ Can Can Wonderland 🍿 Cheap & Free Kids Movies ⭐ More Freebies & Deals

Thanks for joining us for the Monday newsletter! what a gross day! When it's already hot and muggy when I walk the dog at 8am you know it's going to be a bad one. Stay safe in the heat!

If you missed Friday's newsletter you can still see it here with more about the FREE Inflataworld at Maplewood Mall (maybe a good idea for a hot day like today) and Drop-In Discovery Events at Three Rivers Park District. Some of the items in the deals section are still happening too.

With the hot weather, you might want to check out some ideas for indoor fun if you have kids to keep busy. You can try our big list of indoor playgrounds or you could try one of the many nature centers that could give you indoor air-conditioned options plus a bit of outdoor time if you want that too. Plus we have a couple of other options below with kids movie deals and Can Can Wonderland.

For adults to beat the heat, you can get in on the kids movie deals too and enjoy an air conditioned theater for a couple of hours!

We'll be back Wednesday and in the meantime you can stay up-to-date on our Facebook Page and on the website. Thank you for reading! I appreciate you subscribing to the emails AND reading them!

Can Can Wonderland

A visit to Can Can Wonderland in St. Paul offers an amazing indoor adventure inside a historic old canning factory that has been completely transformed into a whimsical, arts-based play space. Your admission fee covers unlimited gaming on over 150 vintage arcade and pinball machines.

The main highlight is the indoor 18-hole mini-golf course, where every single hole is a unique piece of art designed by local artists. After playing a round, you can also can grab a bite from the full kitchen or get an cream creation.

To save a bit, kids aged five and under are always completely free to enter, and visiting on Tuesday is the lowest admission fee of the week. If you're bringing kids, make sure to plan a daytime or afternoon visit as the entire venue shifts to a strict age 21+ restriction later in the evening on weekends!

FREE Rides on the Cafesjian Carousel Tuesday

This summer you can again take a free ride on the Cafesjian Carousel at Como Park!

This 1914 carousel spent its first 75 years at the Minnesota State Fair. In 1988 it was headed for a New York auction until Gerald L. Cafesjian contributed the major share of money needed to rescue the carousel from auction, restore it, and build its pavilion in Como Park.

One day per month you can ride the carousel for free and for this month that day is TOMORROW - Tuesday, June 30.

While you're there, be sure to check out the larger-than-life Washed Ashore sculptures made entirely from recovered ocean plastic that are on display all around the zoo and conservatory grounds this summer!

Summer Kids Movie Deals - Adults Can Enjoy Too!

On a hot summer day when you still want to get the kids out of the house, a nice cold movie theater is a fun option!

This summer, lots of movie theaters throughout Minnesota have summer movie deals featuring kids movies with tickets for $3 or less. Movies are actually FREE at Phoenix Theaters in New Ulm and CABB Theaters in Dundas. There are $1 tickets in Willmar, Woodbury and St. Michael, and then others with prices from $1.75 to $3 each!

Most of these discounts are available to everyone - both kids AND adults - so you don't need to have a kid to enjoy!

Some of the theaters also have deals on concessions with special pricing on pop, popcorn, hot dogs, etc.

Thrifty Minnesota is reader-supported. If you buy something through our links, I may earn a small commission. As an Amazon associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Get the details for these deals, freebies and more on the Current Great Deals Page.

I have to say that in general the freebies and deals are down this week - probably a combination of all the competition from Amazon Prime days ending and it being a holiday week, but we still have some and we'll keep looking for the rest of the week!

Today 6/29 at Hy-Vee earn $.20 off per gallon of gas Fuel Saver with your Hy-Vee Perks card when you spend $40 or more on groceries.

Save $.12 per gallon at local Minnoco stations today for Minnoco Monday. You need to be a member of their rewards program, which is free to join.

Papa Murphy's has a Buy One Get One Free Deal using code BOGO. Online only. Ends 6/29.

4th of July week always brings the best deals on pop 12-packs. Cub has Coca-Cola, Pepsi and 7up 12-packs for $4.48 each when you buy 4 and Hy-Vee has them $4.99 each when you buy 4. At each of these stores for Pepsi products there's also a digital coupon to save $3 when you buy 4. (I can't believe how expensive pop is now that these are actually the best deals. It seems like not that long ago that was regular price!) The deal at Target (30% off 3) isn't great and didn't see a Walmart deal.

See all the other freebies, deals and offers to check out on the Deals Page! PLUS get the details/links for those I mention here.

Our morning flight had almost every type of issue imaginable including mechanical problem, airline screw-ups, flight crew timing out, needing to refuel, weather, etc. and ended up not leaving until after midnight. It's good to be home though, even if we did walk out of the airport into super smoky air! If you missed our Wednesday email, check it out HERE for Hopkins Raspberry Festival, great deals at Wild Mountain, Highland Park Water...

Welcome to the Wednesday newsletter! This is going to be a quick one because we're flying back to Minnesota this morning AND it's my birthday so I didn't want to get up waaaay extra earlier to work AND now my mouse battery died and I don't have another one along. BUT we still have some good stuff today!
