🎭 Art Center Behind the Scenes 🎻 MN Orchestra for Kids ⭐ FREE Breakfast + More Freebies & Deals

Welcome to the Wednesday Newsletter on this cloudy morning. At least it's going to be a warm day!

It seems like there is a lot of preparation for spring going on because I've gotten multiple updates from cities and civic groups for our Minnesota City Wide Garage Sale List. Thanks to all who have sent them over and if you have the details for any that's still missing please send it over!

If you missed Monday's newsletter you can still see it here for more about joining in the MOA Ladybug Release, the interactive WONDER exhibit at the Bell Museum, Kiddywampus storytime, a free Easter pail activity and more.

Today's newsletter is taking on an artsy theme with arts opportunities both indoors and out and orchestral music too!

If you enjoy this newsletter, I would love if you would forward it to a friend, co-worker or family member! If they also like it and want to receive the newsletter to their own email inbox, they can subscribe HERE.

I'll talk to you again for the Friday newsletter. In the meantime you can keep up with us on Facebook or the website! Thank you for reading. I DO appreciate it!

Community Day at Phipps Center for the Arts

Head over the river to Hudson Saturday for a completely free Community Day!

This all-ages open house offers a "behind the curtain" look at how the theater operates during an afternoon packed with hands-on activities, artist demonstrations, and live entertainment around every corner.

You can explore the scene shop, see how the Mighty Wurlitzer organ works, and take a rare backstage tour of the Black Box Theater and even get an exclusive first look at the upcoming 2026/2027 season lineup.

Time for a Spring Visit to Franconia Sculpture Park

Now that we're getting some spring days here and there it's a great time to visit Franconia!

This is a fun and free art experience for everyone (including families) to explore over 100 public sculptures on 50 acres of mowed and gravel paths. While it's open year-round, we're coming up on one of the nicest times of year to visit.

Be sure to check out their calendar of events and art classes too!

Family and Sensory-Friendly Minnesota Orchestra Concerts

The Minnesota Orchestra has created many opportunities for families with children.

Relaxed Family Concerts are inclusive performances held in Orchestra Hall. Lights remain on at a low level for the entire performance and you have the flexibility to move around as needed and/or visit the quiet or movement space throughout the entire performance. Pre-show and afer-show activities include crafts and hands on instrument experiences.

Sensory-Friendly Concerts are held in a smaller, more intimate venue with an up-close experience with the musicians. Lots of thought goes into these experiences to make them comfortable and enjoyable for all.

Read more about the concerts and also the Hall Pass program that offers free tickets for kids under 16 with purchase of an adult ticket to MN Orchestra Concerts and free tickets for high school students with no adult ticket required.
